Ngunguru School, founded in 1870, is a rural Northland School with a setting looking out over the Ngunguru Estuary. Over a number of years, the area has continued to grow, putting pressure on the local school facilities. The Ministry of Educationis committed to delivering better learning outcomes for the children and identified the need for a major upgrade at Ngunguru School. ARCO Group partnered with the Ministry of Education Capital Works Team to completed the redevelopment of Ngunguru School. We provided our client with a competitive tender for this project, whilst adding value to the project though our innovative construction methodologies & programming of works.

This project involved the following:
- Project management & value engineering to align the project budget and project costing
- Construction of a 2 x story 1,100m2 classroom block
- 6 x Teaching open plan teaching spaces
- 1 x Toilet Block
- 2 x Kitchen/Art Areas
- Construction of 2 x concrete reinforced hard courts
- Demolition of 2x existing classroom blocks
- Relocation of 1 x Classroom into new location
- Construction of new decks & ramps to suit new relocated classroom
- Timber piled building foundations & associated supporting retaining walls
